The items you have purchased have incurred Duty & Taxes as per Customs regualtions.
Retailers (Internet and Catalogue) will usually include advice regarding the likelihood of import duties and taxes in their shipping information pages.
To confirm this you may wish to check the Terms & Conditions of your purchase or contact the retailer.
Sometimes this is the case. Products sold by overseas retailers may appear cheaper because they don’t include Duties and Taxes.
Gifts sent from overseas to someone in Jamaica may attract duty and is payable as guided by Customs Authority in Jamaica.
Duty is calculated on the Customs value of the goods. The duty rate is dependent on the commodity. For further details of duties and taxes please refer to site - https://www.jacustoms.gov.jm/tags/duty-calculator Additionally DHL charges a handling / brokerage fee to process your package.
- Online: Pay securely online via our trusted payment portal using the link provided in your customized email notification.
- Direct transfer to our Scotia Bank Account # 801320 Kingston Jamaica Branch
- Cash can be paid at our DHL designated service points in Kingston and Montego Bay
- Cash can also be handed over to our Courier at the time of pickup / delivery.
The sender has the option of nominating to pay the destination of Duties and Taxes once it has been calculated by Local Custom Authority and can go to DHL online portal for this payment.
